Hope

I have been pretty “non festive” lately. I guess is the holidays season and don’t have family around. This is going to be my fifth Christmas here in US and is not getting easy with the time!. Looking back I can honestly said the last Christmas I felt pretty happy was in 2003, maybe because was my first holiday season here, maybe because I just had a new BF and my brother and his girlfriend where living here too.. I don’t know! Honestly these week have been pretty hard! I can’t keep my eyes dry for an hour :S . Is hard, but is life…
I guess a lot of people feel this kind of blue during the holidays. It’s ok. Now I’m going the grocery store and buy some Nutella… and pretty sure I’ll feel happy (and fat!) in 2 seconds…
I know next year is going to bring a lot of great things… I hope.
Have a great weekend :)

Mail in -Mail out

I have been working nonstop packing and shipping orders in the last days, and of course that makes me really happy!. Also, I’m spending every single free minute in original art work to make some original presents :) and I *LOVE* that too!
This is one of the pieces almost ready to go to her new place ;)

And I have been getting really cool stuff in the mail too… because is almost impossible to don’t buy things to yourself, right???
I bought this magnet here. You really have to go to Kal Barteski blog and shop.. She is AMAIZING. I’m going to buy more magnets and some mini prints before Friday!

I made a trade with Michelle Allen and I got this print yesterday…. Sooo cute! Love it! She is amazing too ;)

Now I have to jump to the kitchen because I decide to prepare a mushroom bisque , because I have been crazy obsess with that lately ;)
Have a great night and see you soon!

Honorable Mention

What a great weekend! I participated in a Paint Out here in Coconut Grove, Fl (where I live). I spent the whole weekend sitting down in one of the streets just drawings and talking with people, was really fun. The most exited part (to me of course) was yesterday because they announced the winners and I got Honorable Mention :). I’m really happy and proud of myself because was the FIRST TIME EVER I do something like that and I got a Mention! I think is really cool. And also now I have to frame it because they are going to show my drawing in a Gallery! My first piece in a Gallery. Yes… I’m really happy!
Here my dear “Coconut Palm Tree”

I feel is going to be a great week!
See you soon,

busy~busy~busy

Life have been really crazy these days! I was planning to blog about a couple of things days ago but I still have the house full and not much time to work or just sit down in front of the computer.
So, I guess I’m going to tell you the 3 more important things I have in mind:
1.- GIVEAWAY!! Stacy is giving away on of my Owl calendard in her blog. Go there and leave a comment to participate!!

2.- DECEMBER SPECIAL
3.- CROSSING MY FINGERS ;) I wasn’t sure if should talk about this kind of things but I honestly believe you just ask for what to want aloud ;) In that way the Universe can hear you! You know I’m not American right? I have been here for almost 6 years and have been a really good working immigrant. I have been paying my taxes on time. Unfortunately my working visa will expire on September 2010 :) I really cant believe I have a expiration day here but that is the rule. Honestly I don’t want to leave, I want to live here!
So… Why I’m crossing my fingers? Because I applied for the Visa Lottery 2010;) and I really want to win that lottery!!! I’m crossing my fingers.

OK. I have to leave now and hopefully I will back soon with new things.
See you soon!

GIVEAWAY

Here the Giveaway again.. just beacue I want to keep the info in top of the posts ;) Thanks for all the nice comments and the emails to sign up in my newsletter!!
In some point during the weekend I’ll (or my BF or his Mom :) ) drawn on name and the Super Duper winner will get 2 prints!.Check my Shop and start to think which prints you will want ;) Also, if you Sign Up for the newsletter you’re going to get a Super Holiday Special next week ;)

GRATEFULL + GIVEAWAY

Definitely I don’t have idea how to manage the stress. I can have short breath around the clock every time I see (or think) in my To Do list. Thanksgiving week is my one of my favorites weeks ever, and usually is the most stressful week to me! For some crazy reason I’m always full of things + all the normal Thanksgiving good-yummy-a lot of work things. I found myself with insomnia last night trying to figurate out how finish my work, work in the new ideas I have in mind and find time to have fun with the people in town (with have my BF’s Mom and friends coming from Ohio). Of course I feel I’m going to be crazy by Thursday before we start the cooking :S (BTW, I have to tell you I’M NOT the one in charge of the Turkey here ;) but I’m the one who have to CLEAN ALL).
So, today I wake up (after only 2 hours sleep) thinking in how put everything in order and just BREATH. And like every single time I reach this stress point, I find, read, or see something that make me slow down and just be GRATEFULL of my crazy life..
If you have a little bit of time, please check Jules’s Blog and send some positive thoughts to this little girl. And also, please check Kelli’s blog… These 2 post just remind me how LUCKY I’m.

And let’s just spread a little bit more of my Grateful behavior during this week. BTW, is Thanksgiving week.. the best week to do this.!

Have fun and a great day!

Weekend

I had a nice weekend. Ohio won yesterday(I live with a big buckeye fan ;) ) and both of the Manning boys won today ;) (yes, I can of like football too!) I can’t complaint, good football weekend BUT not really good with my design goals :( I was planning to work on my paper patterns but I realize my BF Mom’s is coming this Tuesday for Thanksgiving week… that means I had to clean… and I mean CLEAN. I spent the whole weekend in my “mad cleaning” mood. So far the house looks good, hopefully by Tuesday is going to be perfect ;)
One of the things I kind of “like “ of this weekend was taking care of the “guest” room. Usually that is MY room. I mean my “ART-SHIPPING-STORAGE” room. Is really hard to don’t have a really own space where you can have all your disaster and don’t care about what other people think, but when you have guest you have to “hide” the disaster… and only show the good things ;) After spent all weekend cleaning, I decide to create a “wall gallery” with my artwork in the guest room ;)
I’ll be adding more each day… Is going to be fun!

Thanks :)

Thanks for all the messages about my concern with my blog in Mozilla. Looks like everything is working good… and maybe I was a little bit picky ;) That is normal.
Today, I’m having a great productive day, and still I have a lot to do because I have to cut and pack 13 calendars to ship tomorrow. I wish I can write a little bit more about some stuff I have in mind, but that will have to wait till tomorrow ;)
And as I promise, here some of the images of the prints I have been working on. More tomorrow.
Good Night and see you later!!!

Confession

I’m graphic designer but for some crazy reason I’m using a PC. I really want a MAC but I have to take care of other stuff before get one. Usually I update my blog in Internet Explorer, and in my computer everything was looking great. Today I had the brilliant idea to check my blog in Mozilla and almost fall of my chair. So embarrassing! I can’t believe all (if I have!) my Mozilla Firefox readers were looking my blog pretty ugly. I totally felt like when you are walking around with a piece of toilet paper in shoe :S. Now, after checking hundreds of times the code I fixed ;).I feel proud of my blog and myself.
OK. I’ll back tomorrow with the images of all my new prints… Don’t think I have been scratching my belly and just enjoy the weather, ok?
See you soon!

Bloom

Oiischh.. today I have been lazy.. really lazy. I’ll call the day off right now and go to one of my favorite places to hear some good music, have some beers and MAYBE French fries ;)
Ahhh… but at least I made a print. The word today was BLOOM.
Happy weekend and see you soon!

…just working

I’m not sure where the time is going but I can’t believe tomorrow is already Friday!. I feel I have been sitting in front of my computer the last 4 days and still no sure what I have been doing. Again, definitely I have to back to my “what I did today list”. I think that is the only way to keep track of my work and hours.
Taking about work. A couple of days ago I wrote down a bunch of new quotes-sentences-words I want to use in my prints, and I promises to myself to create each day a new print picking one of those quotes.
Today was: Home Sweet Home.

And now is time to go the Top Chef I recorded last night ;)
See you soon!

New

Last night before fall sleep drew something slight “different”. I feel have my style, birds and flowers and at the same time was king of “different”. I liked!

And of course I had to add a familiar “ingredient” to the mix… So.. a new follow your dream just born!
I have to post these prints in my shop :)
See you later!

I'm proud

I had a great weekend during the Mad Hatter Festival this weekend. Sales weren’t huge but I met wonderful people and I heard the most amazing compliments regarding my work. Definitely I feel proud of myself ;) Nothing better than know people really like your work to make you work harder. I have a lot of plans and is time to move and work. I was reading Donna Downey blog this morning and she really inspired me!
Now I’m so ready to set some goals and achieve it!
My new journal is here ready to be filled with the new plans and the progress during my accomplish-path ;)

Have a great week and See you soon!!!

Great day!

I think today is a really GREAT day. I can’t vote but I’m really looking forward for the outcome of this day. I have been watching the news and following the whole process because politics issues always fascinated me ;) Unfortunately I come from a country where the political situation makes me literally sick, but still I have hope someday we’re going to have real democracy again. Everybody should go out and vote. Vote is a privilege. GO. VOTE!
Now I have to back again to my paints. Here some of the pieces I’m going to take to the Art Festival ;)
See you soon!
